Schlitz is back?! Apparently the oft-maligned brand that was the top selling beer of the early 20th century is making a comeback.
Pabst bought the brand and is marketing their historical recreation with gusto throughout the Midwest to men and women of yesteryear who "say the beer reminds them of better days".
Though it's rise has not been as rapid as its fall, the resurgence of Schlitz is probably a good ploy for Pabst. Ever since InBev bought up Anheuser-Busch for $52 billion, Pabst is the largest American-owned brewery. With a presidential election that seems to be centered on outsourced jobs, economic decline, and other problems of a globalized economy, an American company selling a historic American beer to the most American of customers is probably a good bet.
Personally, I'll only drink it if this spontaneously happens every time I open a can.

That did happen. After Solly's at MGMT. Maybe you were too schlitz to remember. $3 PBR: live long and prosper.
