Congratulations to the newly-inaugurated President Barack H. Obama. It really has a nice ring to it. We're constantly reminded of the turbulent times that we live in: a deep recession, a severe financial crisis, multiple wars, and dire foreign policy challenges. President Obama will face a number of tests almost immediately. We wish him the very best, because a bright future for the country depends in no small part on the success of his presidency.
But all that can wait for at least a few hours. For now, let's savor this remarkable, historical, cathartic, and completely uplifting moment in the American story.
